Hi! Any answers would be much appreciated.
Say I m in 5th gear and I want to turn into a 30mph road but the corner is kind of sharp, so I ll do it in 2nd gear. I ve slowed down a lot and before the turning, I downshift into 2nd. But as I lift my foot off the clutch, the car chugs/jerks. Why is this? Have I changed gear too early? What is the best way to take this turning when going at high speed? Thanks!

Second is too low. Try third instead at that speed.
The best way is to stop doing something that doesn't work. You can't just pop the clutch and make the engine go three times as fast in an instant by downshifting three gears at once.
It's too low of a gear for your car when going 30mph. If you really wanted to you could rev match so you won't get the "jerking"
