My kids (8 and 9) are looking at PSP and DSi for Christmas. My son is leaning toward PSP, my daughter toward DSi.

DSi. It has so much more games (better games I might add) than the PSP. PSP has very few kid games. Most games are aimed at the teens to adults.
DSi for both. If you even drop the PSP on a fluffy carpet, it breaks. With a DSi you can take pictures, take recordings and play them backwards. It is one of my personal favorite game systems except for my computer. Dsi is the way to go. If you get a PSP for him then you will be buying a second one within a week or possibly a day. My PSP fell apart. I never dropped it either. PSP games are very boring. None of them are fun. You like the games for a few hours but then you grow tired of them. A PSP would be a waste of your money.
The dsi is more for kids
I have a psp and im 20 and sometimes i find the games hard lol my little cousin has a dsi and i seen alot of her games, for boys and girls so your best bet would be the dsi it has alot of brain games aswell so they can learn while they play Lol
I think you should go with DSi's. I like this console overall because its pretty much a DS with a few extra features. Plus, your kids can use the Pictochat feature during road trips so they don't have to say a word! The DSi also has more kid-friendly games compared to the DSi.
DSi has alot more games for kids there age. for PSP the best games are M.
I know this can be a hard time for you with 8&9 yr. olds Mine are 18 mths. apart, boy and girl you always need to make it special for the birthday child but you also need to include the others by letting them help bake the cake/wrap gifts/decoarate etc. You can tell the boy ...that if he continues he will be left out of the festivites and will also not have abirthday celabration when it is his turn YOU also have to have a talk to him about how to treat other people and their things(this includes his sister!! the other thing is at this age it is very hard to referee try having a" family rap sesstion" this really works to bring out what is the real underlying problem is or he has..... and why he is picking on her so much continueing these" family raps" works great try it you will be glad to see it works exspecilly since you have the teen-age yrs.still ahesd you ain't seen anything yet good luck
dsi. my son has a dsi and he loves taking pics, editing them, and showing them off. i own a psp and its def more geared to teens and adults
my kids have both but they fight over the psp the most
nintendo focuses more on kiddy games(it has other types of games to), so for young kids it might be better.
