It's been tough to find details, but from what I've gathered over the past couple weeks it appears that Legalsounds is gone for good. They were able to operate because of loopholes in Russian copyright laws (or something), and those laws recently changed, so the site was shut down. I've yet to find an official explanation from Legalsounds, but as shady as that site was, I doubt they'll ever bother. I wouldn't hold your breath on getting your money back for the same reason. That site wasn't paying the artists for the music they sold, so they won't care much about you either, I'm afraid. I hope you didn't put too much money in there. Either way, best of luck to you.

Then about 2 or maybe even 3 years ago I searched it and there it was again. AND Both My Account AND ALL MY CREDIT WAS THERE. So I don t think there is anything to worry about.
Adam- in fact they did pay some limited royalties, which is one reason Visa was never able to shut them down while others went by the wayside. What you call shady is what I call paying a dollar for a download at itunes. Used legal for years, left maybe a dollar and change in the account. The biggest drag, other than that they're apparently gone for good, is not having those downloads backed up. Legal kept personal catalogs on file which came in handy on many occasions. Maybe you just feel better about paying some greedy corporate ***** who have kept artists from their rightful rewards ever since there was a music business. If not, buy directly online from the artists themselves.
You are obviously the kind of individual that feels entitled for products or services in a price range your more comfortable with. Thats a nice way of saying that your a cheap ***!!! Imagine someone coming to you at your work and saying " I can hire a person from Malaysia that can do the same job as you however i will only pay them forty cents an hour. Not only that they would smile the whole time and probably more productive than you ". Its a matter of perspective!!! Then again its also apparent your to busy thinking of only how things effect you rather than other. Another nice way to say your too self absorbed!!!
I was also wondering what happened to it. I did a search and one of the pages led me to mp3va.com, which looks VERY similar to legalsounds. I might try that.

Select PAST MONTH for latest site postings,
Then click on one of the Site History websites that will show you recent activity and status.
