Tell me a little about your culture. What is one specific example of your material culture and one example of your non-material culture that is different from those in the US?
Material culture is what you pick up with your senses. Ex: Clothing, language, etc
Non-material culture are your traditions, customs, norms, or beliefs, etc.
I am not asking about US cultures. I am asking about cultures that are different than the US.

Born and raised in Scandinavia, having lived and worked for many years in the US I must say that Common Sense is, unfortunately, NOT status in the US - might have spawned from a school system that relies om regurgitation and multiple choice-questions instead of reasoning and explaining...
Care for the weaker is a common sense in most countries, like parental benefits... Compare the US 0 weeks of parental leave with ALL other countries in the World - even Africa and the Middle East! (source 1)
Also (using common sense) most people in Scandinavia do not believe one needs to be Religious to be moral. In the US it is common that people have MUCH STUFF, even if one is poor, one must fill the garage with boxes of things one do not use any more. In Scandinavia, many people value neatness, empty spaces and fewer things but in great condition - the non essentials are donated to second-hand or recycled.
Also, UNBIASED NEWS is something I (and many of my "foreign" friends) miss in the US. (see source 2)
