The real Billy jack that the 1971 fictional movie was based about was released form prison somewhere between 1996 and 1999 (I think) and I would like more details about the real story of him if its possible to find.

Billy Jack is not a real character. He was created by Tom Laughlin. When Delores Taylor took Tom to the Rosebud Indian Reservation in Winner, South Dakota to meet her parents before they were married, in 1953, Tom was outraged by what he saw there. He wrote everything down that took place during his trip there and that became the screenplay for Billy Jack. He made up the Billy Jack character and inserted it in what he wrote as a man who would stand up for and protect the Indians. Go to his web site:

and buy the book, The Legend of Billy Jack and you can read the whole story. You might be thinking about Wovoka, an Indian holy man who wore the same hat the Laughlin wore in the film, but he died many, many years ago.

The real Billy Jack does exist, and was actually falsely put in prison because of Tom Laughlin who stole Billy Jack s identity, and even testified in court against the real Billy Jack. I was in prison with him, befriended him, and was given the opportunity to read his actual case, where Laughlin testified; and I saw original news paper articles of the real Billy Jack when he worked for the Marshals, wearing his signature hat and coat, and belt. I actually have a copy of that article. Its hard for a thief to erase all of ones history. I also had the privilege of seeing his many different original certificates of the many different marshal arts styles he fought; I saw his original pictures of his days in the CIA. those of you doubters who think you know the truth should be ashamed of yourselves. And those of you involved in stealing his identity, it s all about to come back and bite you in the ***!
Maybe it's on Billy Jack's ( Tom Laughlin ) websight.
