Hi, Iv recently bought a samsung 32" 1080p HD LCD Tv
the problem is, when i watch a dvd the black bar at the top and bottom of the screen takes up half the screen.. is there any ways to watch it in full screen rather than just pressing zoom?

like the first answer if the movie is in widescreen format then no... Zoom will be your only option but picture quality will decrease. Try to find movies that are made in full screen mode... I personally hate watching any movie in widescreen because they have gotten carried away with the shrinking of the actual picture... Not so bad if you have a 60" but 32" I hear ya! Just look for full screen format!
This usually happens when you are playing a widescreen movie. When you watch it in full screen, the picture will be stretched out which will lower the quality....
You can try messing around with the settings....
OK..you have to set up your DVD Player, to 16:9..It is the screen zsize fot widescreen movies
Keep in mind that many movies use a different aspect ratio, such as 2.35, while your screen is 1.75. That means at full width and proper visual proportions, you will get bars on the top and bottom.
