I am planning on syncing christmas lights to music. I was looking around and could only find info on how to do it for big projects like a house so that there are tons of different timings so they are all going off differently. I am just using a few strings of lights and want them all to go off at the same time or 2 strings different than the other 2 strings. Would i be able to do it to the beat and the melody or just 1 of them?
Help greatly appreciated
Update:Yes im looking for somthing that is automated. and i was planning on building it myself. Just not sure what or how to build that i can hook up my lights to then plug into the computer.

This one I like the best - it has multiple channels for different frequencies.

Google "color organ" and there is a LOT of different ones out there.
From what I know about lighting to do things like that you're either going to have to buy a light board (like a board that you can connect a series of lights to) or you can build yourself a simple(ish) board with a few switches connected to a timer.
Alternatively, you can connect your lights to a switch or series of different lights to different switches and turn them on and off manually; but it sounds like youre looking for something automated :D
