german plural of Bach, 'stream'?

I thought it would be Bache, but die Bache is a pig. i have a hard time imagining there would be a plural overlap between stream and pig. die Bachen would be the Pigs. would der Bach just become die Bach? or would it be die Bachs?

obviously, in any language there are going to be a lot of words to describe any one idea. Schwein is pig in german, but die Bache is like a wild pig or a sow. die Bachen is the plural of die Bache. while die Bachen may also be the plural of der Bach, saying that it must be so because you know a different word for pig is neither a helpful or educated answer. i would like it if someone answered who actually speaks the language, thanks.

    plural from Bach = Bäche (stream)

    Bache {f} = wild sow

    Bachen {pl} = wild sows

  2. The German plurar of stream is Bachen The word Bache has has no relation to pig , because pig in German is Schwein

  3. Its because German has umlauts: Bache = is a female wild pig

    Bäche = sg. Bach is a creek/brook

    the "Bachs" = the members of a family with the surname "Bach"
