It's undefined, but the limit does approach 2
(x^2 - 1) / (x - 1)
x = 1
(1^2 - 1) / (1 - 1) = 0/0 = undefined
(x^2 - 1) / (x - 1) =>
(x - 1) * (x + 1) / (x - 1) =>
x + 1
x goes to 1
1 + 1 = 2
Undefined.
However, the graph looks like the straight line y=x+1 with a single missing point at (1,2).
Note that the limit of F(x) as x approaches 1 is 2.
