Yes, they do.
My BMC mix isn't much of a "marker" outside because he was neutered young....but the dog we had when I was growing up would mark EVERY damn tree on his walks. First tree; lift leg, pee a little. Second tree; lift leg, pee a little. You get the idea.
"Male dogs lift their leg as high as possible to leave their urine on a certain area so that other dogs are able to smell it. Dogs that want to mark their territory will leave little drops of urine in several strategic places while they are out on their walks, instead of just urinating in one spot and obviously normally the dog owner gets upset when his or her dog stops every few seconds to urinate. When a dog is out on a walk he will usually mark prominent objects, usually right after the dog has carefully smelt the mark left behind by another dog in that same spot."
Yes they do if they been like in a pin for a while as soon as you let them out of the pin most of them run a mark there territory.
"A canines's sniffer is an exceedingly fantastic-tuned, delicate device while in comparison with our very own sniffer. It is sensible, then, that heady scent-marking -- spraying urine on places and products to mark territory and declare possession -- is a vital portion of canines communication. The chemical heady scent-messages in a canines's urine tell different canines very almost each little thing they should comprehend: the place the marking canines hangs out, how long it incredibly is been considering he's been around, and (contained while it comes to a girl) sexual receptivity. A canines who's frightened simply by fact he's abode on my own would mark furnishings or partitions to reassure himself that each little thing is all precise. heady scent-marking is additionally a vogue of asserting dominance, it incredibly is why some canines will raise their legs on different canines or maybe human beings."
yes they do... sometimes. There are some dogs who prefer to be independent and they mark their territories. The dogs who are more family orientated don't. Depends on what you prefer.
I think that they do because my dog only pees on certain areas of a tree after he has had a good sniff and he sometimes pees on branches that are on the ground. I think the reason why dogs do this is because its like they are saying to all the other dogs that live in your area that I am here and there's nothing you can do about it.
Yes especially male dogs who are not desexed.
It is a way of them telling other dogs that they have been there and for them to know what dogs have been there.
Yes, so to speak. We call it pee-mail.! A dog pees and any other dog that comes along can get alot of information about the dog that left it, such as if they are sick, male-or-female and general doggie stuff!
yep sure do.. I have 2 dogs. one will go to the bathroom and then the other will come behind them and re-mark the same area..
