(1) Its another Saturday night with Dillion and Dodge City. Miss Sunshine and her man U.S. Marshall Matt Dillion were in bed. Well lets put it this way not asleep but having a little fun.. Sunshine whispers to Matt (2) I promise I'll be gentle. He laughs because he knows how crazy she sometimes can get (have you heard her Tarzan yell it really freak a person out). Sunshine pretty much is taking the lead roll in to nights game of love so she lets Matt know that (3) When Miss kitty had you baby.......she never knew just what she had. He then kisses her softly and she reciprocates very tenderly. (4)Matt Baby I have loved you for 52 years, that's how long its been, then he exclaims And you...... (5)You shy ol' thing. Well from here I can not go any further because things become hot and I would become suspended I wish them the best and one for the road (6) My dream for them is coming true they are together forever. The End.
"52 YEARS, THAT'S HOW LONG IT'S BEEN, Mattbaby. AND YOU....YOU SHY OL' THING. WHEN MISS KITTY HAD YOU, BABY.....SHE NEVER KNEW JUST WHAT SHE HAD. I'M STILL THE SAME OL' GAL. AND YOU'RE STILL THE SAME OL' GUY," Miss Sunshine smiled, her eyes still a sparkle with the same light of her her youth.
"Well, How about a SATURDAY NIGHT WITH DILLON AND DODGE CITY?" Mattbaby grinned getting up from his rocking chair. "I PROMISE TO BE GENTLE," he added reaching out to help her out of her rocking chair.
"MY DREAM IS COMING TRUE." she smiled back as she accepted his aid.
The two rocking chairs stood empty still rocking slightly in the cool night breeze as the figures inside slowly made made their way up the stairs arm in arm.
I put down the whisky bottle, and looked at her. Tall, athletic, broad-shouldered, and totin’ a Winchester like no one’s business, I couldn’t help but fall in love. Too bad she was out to kill me.
“I promise I’ll be gentle,” she said, sternly. I could literally feel the trajectory of the bullet from my forehead to the back of my neck. She ****** the firearm and leveled it at my face. Little beads of sweat erupted from my neck and palms. I was recalling the fateful events of Saturday night with Dillon and Dodge City. Now was the time to speak, and speak quickly before I became the world’s tallest chunk of Swiss cheese.
“My dream is coming true,” I said, smiling.
“Say what?”
“When Miss Kitty had you baby, she never knew just what she had. Thought you were some simple little stable girl, who was barely fit to sweep after the horses. But look at you. You had to cut down a lot of men and track a lot of dust to avenge yourself upon me. I tip my hat to you.”
The anger subsided for a few moments, but like a dying fire blessed with a strong hot gust of wind, it rekindled itself and a shot rang out…blowing my Stetson clean off my head. But I kept cool and sublime like an arch-angel…even if I was far from that.
“I’m still the same ol’ gal,” she said, bitterly, “and you’re still the same ol’ guy. A thief, a womanizer, and a killer. Nothing more.”
“Nothing more,” I said, nodding. “52 years, that’s how long it’s been. Since I crawled free from the cradle and carved my niche here in Silver Junction. Any crooked deal, I’ve had a hand in, sure. And you…you shy ol’ thing. What makes you so clean and spotless? You gonna say you’re the Saint of Silver Junction? I’ve heard many a rumor of just what you had to…”
“Shut it!” she snapped. “I’m not claiming anything. Just here to make you pay for what you did to Dillon.”
“Ah….Dillon,” I said. The smile crept back across my face. “You know, I consider him to be the finest man who ever graced the West. I doubt you’d be the only one to seek vengeance on the guy who outshot him. But surely, you wouldn’t begrudge one last toast in his honor, would you?”
I gestured towards the shot of whisky standing on the table.
“Okay,” she said coolly. “You can make your little toast. Just do it slowly.”
I nodded thankfully, and as she asked, slowly took the shot glass into my hand and saluted the memory of Dillon. Her lip trembled as I spoke his name, I could tell she was more than fond of the man I’d slain to keep my gold. Then I tipped the glass into my mouth, and let the fiery liquor roll down my throat.
The next instant, I flung the glass with unflinching accuracy and force into her face. She cursed, and fired off a shot that only shattered the mirror behind me. As the shards fell and the lass dropped to her knees, I unerringly dashed over the table, unholstered my six-shooter, and fired off one bullet before hitting the floor. One was all I needed.
“Damn you,” she seethed, falling against the dusty floorboards. “Damn you to hell, McKennan.”
“Damn me indeed,” I said, holding her trembling form in my arms as her spirit left her body. When the clock struck one, I gently laid her across a poker table, folding her arms across her chest, to conceal the fatal bullet wound. I ceremoniously laid the Winchester lengthwise by her body, and gently kissed her cheek as I left the saloon. I hopped on my horse, and directed it east, where I would have to lay low for awhile.
Maybe for good.
